It's about as big as a doorknob. I've asked at eBay blogs when they existed and someone said maybe a finial.. It's open at both ends and faceted. I am using it as a stand for my small crystal ball ;D hey! it works!! LOL!

Hi there, Knowing the size, or having a point of reference for size, would help. But without that, it is either a bead, or possibly a part for a crystal dresser lamp... :-)
